Our fishing is focused predominantly on mountain rivers, small freestone streams and intimate tributaries, where stealth, accurate presentation and reading the water are essential. Depending on river conditions and the season, you may fish a dry fly on technical pocket water, Euro nymph through deep runs, Czech nymph tight to structure, or work a streamer through larger pools and faster current.
From canyons to high-mountain creeks
Some of our key fishing areas include the Lumbardh of Peja and Rugova Canyon, the White Drin and its surrounding waters, the spectacular Gorge of Deçan and its mountain tributaries, together with smaller creeks where conditions can create exceptionally intimate trout fishing. The Lumbardh of Peja runs cold and rich in oxygen, with plenty of pocket water where short, precise presentations work well.
The Deçan Bistrica, or Lumbardhi i Deçanit, rises in the Bjeshkët e Nemuna and cuts through the dramatic Deçan Gorge before eventually joining the White Drin.

The fishing
This is not primarily about distance casting or covering hundreds of metres of river.
It is about one fish, one cast, one presentation.
Think light tackle, long leaders, delicate dry flies, precise drifts, short-line Euro nymphing and careful wading. Small mountain streams demand stealth. Larger sections of river allow you to experiment with different presentations and adapt to changing flows, insect activity and water conditions.
The predominant target is brown trout, making Kosovo particularly attractive to fly fishers who enjoy natural-looking presentations and technical trout fishing rather than simply chasing numbers.
The real Balkan fly-fishing experience
One moment you are standing knee-deep in a crystal-clear mountain stream, watching a brown trout rise beneath a waterfall. The next, you are walking through a remote canyon surrounded by limestone walls and forest.
And that is what makes Kosovo special.

The river is wild. The scenery is dramatic. The fish are earned.
